Say NO to the Escalation of Violence in Syria
Demonstration in Bonn in Solidarity with Syrian People to Stop Violence in Syria. More than 34, 000 people, mostly civilians, have been killed in Syria. The ongoing violence has forced more than 500,000 to flee to neighboring countries since the uprising against the regime of Bashar al-Assad. A further 2.5 million Syrians displaced domestically, according to UN estimates. Every day more than 150 people are being killed, mostly women and children, as a result of shelling, explosions and fierce clashes between Syrian opposition fighters and Syrian government forces.
In response to the continuation of violence and bloodshed in Syria since March 2011, Yasa calls for mass participation in the Yasa-organized peaceful demonstration, which will take place on Saturday, November 10, 2012- 2PM on Marktplatz in Bonn.
